I've spent my entire career solving one problem: how to take what a business needs and build a system that makes it happen.
It started in 1985 in banking, supporting computer systems for financial institutions. From there I spent ten years at DuPont, working my way through project management and systems design into their emerging technologies group, where I defined the standards for server implementation across the entire corporation.
When DuPont outsourced their IT, I did something that a lot of people in this audience will understand: I started my own business. For 27 years, I ran a computer consulting and integration company. I built systems, managed teams, consulted with businesses on how to leverage technology to meet their goals, and developed managed services that kept everything running. I wasn't just advising business owners. I was one.
After closing that chapter, I spent five and a half years with a large managed service provider doing exactly what I'd always done: consulting, designing systems, implementing solutions, and turning them over to support. Then one day, without warning, that job ended. And it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened.
The Pivot
A cooking channel changed everything.
I had started a small YouTube cooking channel as a hobby. But as I dug into it, I realized there was so much more to content and social media than holding a camera and pressing record. Strategy, systems, planning, production, distribution. It was an engineering problem. And I'd been solving engineering problems my whole life.
Then it hit me. There are small business owners everywhere who know they need to be doing this, creating content, building an online presence, connecting with their customers, but they don't have the time, the skills, or the system to make it happen consistently.
That's why I started Success Driven Media. I took 40 years of building systems and applied it to content creation and marketing. Because at the end of the day, it's the same problem I've always solved: understand the business, understand the customer, build the system, and deliver results.
What drives me.
I'm an avid traveler and explorer at heart. I've been to 32 states, 28 countries, and 4 continents, and yes, I've been inside a pyramid. That curiosity has shaped everything about my career. New cultures, new foods, new people, new ways of thinking. That's what excites me.
I learn new things quickly because I genuinely love the process of discovery. It's the same reason I dove headfirst into AI, content strategy, and social media, and why I'm able to bring fresh thinking to every business I work with.
Beyond that, I'm pretty simple. I love to fish. I love to cook, that cooking channel is still going strong. I love music, just about any genre, as long as it's quality. Family is everything to me. And my faith grounds all of it. I'm a Christian, not a religious person. There's a big difference.
At the core of everything I do, professionally and personally, is relationships. That's not a marketing buzzword for me. It's how I see the world.
